Do you have to be Jewish to join the JCC?
No. JCC Buffalo membership is open to everyone, regardless of background or religious affiliation. We welcome individuals and families of all faiths, ages, and backgrounds.
Can I try JCC Buffalo before becoming a member?
Yes. You can experience the fitness centers, pools, and other amenities with a complimentary pass after registering for a guided tour. Schedule a tour here.
What is included in a JCC membership?
Membership includes access to both JCC Buffalo locations, fully equipped fitness centers, indoor heated pools, more than 60 weekly group fitness classes, basketball and pickleball opportunities, and member pricing on select programs and events. Family Membership also includes babysitting at the Amherst location.
Does my membership give me access to both locations?
Yes. One membership includes access to both the Benderson Family Building in Amherst and the Holland Family Building in Buffalo at no additional cost.
Does the JCC offer day passes or guest passes?
Yes. Day passes and guest passes are available. Contact Member Services at 716.688.4033 for Amherst or 716.886.3145 for Buffalo, or ask at the front desk during your visit.
Does the JCC accept insurance or wellness benefit programs?
Yes. JCC Buffalo accepts a variety of insurance and wellness programs, including SilverSneakers®, Renew Active®, and Silver&Fit®. Visit our Insurance Benefits page for additional information.
Is there a joining fee?
Yes. A one-time registration fee of $75 applies in addition to the monthly membership rate. Promotional offers may occasionally reduce or waive this fee.
Does the JCC have indoor and outdoor pools?
Yes. Both locations have indoor heated pools for year-round swimming. The Benderson Family Building in Amherst also has a heated outdoor pool during the summer. Pool access is included with membership. Visit our Aquatics page to learn more.
Can I bring my children while I work out?
Yes. Babysitting is available at the Benderson Family Building in Amherst while members use the facility. Babysitting is included with Family Membership. Visit our Babysitting page for reservation information and availability.
Are membership discounts available?
Yes. Reduced pricing and registration fee waivers may be available for active military personnel, veterans, police officers, firefighters, and EMTs. Contact Member Services for eligibility details.
Does the JCC offer fee assistance if I cannot afford the standard rate?
The JCC does offer limited, need-based financial assistance toward JCC membership dues using limited funds from donor support. Download the Financial Assistance application HERE.
How Our Process Works
• Be sure to attach the required income verification documents. Your application cannot be processed without this information.
• Please allow a minimum of two weeks for processing once your application is submitted.
• All details regarding your financial assistance application are kept strictly confidential.
• Financial assistance is not renewed automatically. You must submit a new application each year.
