Our number one goal is to provide you and your family a well-rounded experience that enhances fitness and wellness.  We offer a wide range of group fitness, aquatics, sports, and virtual offerings that provide an immense value to your experience at the JCC of Greater Buffalo.  Take a look and explore all that we have to offer.


We are now offering group fitness classes outside, inside, or online. You can browse through the fitness schedules for all locations.  We now have printable schedules.  See below!

  • Walk-ins are welcome, and reservations are recommended for group exercise and aquatics classes. 
  • Due to a new feature in the My J app, we can provide space for reservations and walk-ins.
  • A reservation will guarantee a spot in a class.  Some classes have limitations due to space and equipment availability.
  • Waiting lists have been enabled in the My J app, and you will receive an email and a notification if you are moved from the waitlist. 
  • Virtual classes are still available in the My J app and require a reservation in order to receive the zoom link.  
  • Lap/Family Swim, Open Gym, Pick-up Basketball, and Pickleball schedules are available without reservations.
  • To see the latest schedules, use this webpage or download the My J app from the App Store or Google Play

Class Descriptions & Fee-Based Classes

20/20 Endurance

20 exercises in 20 minutes! This challenging and motivating workout starts with light stretching followed by high, medium, and low impact exercises followed by (AMRAPS) as many reps as possible. Modifications are given so anyone can participate and leave class feeling successful.

Absolute Abs

Conditioning the abdominal core with exercises that increase muscular strength and endurance. Class concludes with stretching.


Ai Chi is a water-based total body strengthening and relaxation progression that integrates mental, physical and spiritual energy. It combines Tai-Chi concepts with Shiatsu and Watsu techniques and is performed in shoulder-deep water using a combination of breathing and slow, broad movements of the arms, legs and torso. The Ai Chi progressions moves from simple breathing, to the incorporation of upper-extremity, trunk, lower-extremity and finally total body involvement.

Barre Body

Combines barre movements with weighted exercise and cardio to increase strength, muscle endurance, core fitness and balance.

BUILD Your Core

Mat-based core training that includes abdominals, back, glutes, and hip stabilizer muscles.  This low-impact class focuses on strength, flexibility, and balance.

Cardio Kickboxing

Full body workout with cardio bursts.  Boxing mixed with high intensity moves to burn calories, build strength and muscles!  Bring gloves to class.


Join in for a great workout with great results.  You will strengthen your cardiovascular system and your muscles while having lots of fun!  This class is suitable for all fitness levels.

Combat Cardio

A high energy martial arts-inspired workout that is completely non-contact. Punch and kick your way to fitness.


Hones in on the torso and sling muscles connecting your upper and lower body. Great for tightening abs and glutes, improving strength and assisting in injury prevention.

Dance Fitness

Get fit to great music and moves! Class includes Zumba, line dancing, and other fun dance-type exercise.

Gentle Yoga

A calming, stress relieving, and rejuvenating Hatha yoga class to stretch, strengthen, and heal the body. Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and body through movement and stillness. Yoga postures and sequences are practiced at a slower pace with special attention to alignment and detail. Blankets, blocks, and pillows are used to deepen poses and rest in restorative postures. This class is recommended for all levels.


Strengthens your entire body and challenges your major muscle groups.

Get Stretched

For anyone who would like to increase their flexibility and range of motion. You will learn how to safely stretch tight muscles, while learning correct spinal movements for added mobility in your daily activities. Appropriate for all fitness levels.

Glutes Galore

Glutes are the largest muscle group of the body so come join the class to isolate, strengthen and tone the glutes!

Hatha Flow Yoga

Hatha Yoga uses postures and conscious breathing in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength, flexibility and relaxation. Beginner


Burn fat without losing muscle. Within each workout participants experience short intervals of training that deliver a calorie drenching workout and post metabolic boost.

Les Mills BodyAttack®

Cardio workout that improves your speed, fitness, strength and agility. Easy moves.

Les mills BodyPump

The original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. Challenges your major muscle groups by using squats, presses, lifts and curls.

Les Mills Core

Hones in on the torso and sling muscles that connect your upper and lower body. Great for tightening your tummy and butt. Improve strength and assist in injury prevention.

Mat Pilates

A mind body discipline which uses breathing with exercises to develop core control and Pilates which develops mental power and control.

Pilates Barre Fusion

Combines both Pilates and Barre techniques. Pilates uses breathing and exercises to develop core and mental control of the body. Barre is no impact and focuses on functional movements, full range of motion and body alignment.

Power Pilates

This class takes the classic Pilates format and cranks it up a notch (or two!). This is for the advanced student who is ready to challenge their core in a condensed, fast-paced, high energy class. Very few modifications will be provided. Light hand weights will serve as a bonus in many of the exercises, but are not required. (This class is not recommended for those recovering from injuries, especially injuries of the low back.)

Seated/Standing Yoga

A unique yoga style that adapts yoga positions and poses through the creative use of a chair. Poses are practiced seated on the chair or the chair is used for support during standing and balance poses. Emphasis is on breathing, balance, strength, flexibility,  and relaxation. Suitable for all ages, fitness levels and physical conditions.

Silversneakers Cardio

Safe, healthy and gentle on the joints. Includes easy low-impact movement and upper body strength, abdominal conditioning, stretching and relaxation exercises.

Silversneakers Classic

Increase strength and movement for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing, and a SilverSneakers ball are used for resistance. A chair is used for support.

Strength Training

Build stamina, coordination and agility. Improve your functional strength with body weight exercises with planks and hovers. Appropriate for all levels.

Stretch It Out

Stretching is the most overlooked aspect of fitness.  Stretching elongates the muscles, improves flexibility, decreases the risk of injury and helps with daily stiffness.  This class offers a wide variety of overall body stretches to improve overall flexibility.

Total Body Workout

Combines step and kickboxing moves for strength and endurance. Class uses free-weights for strengthening arms, back and core muscles.

U.P. Ultimate Power

Why U.P.? You can only go UP from here. Instructed by Jodee and Rene, short warm up followed by 15 minutes of H.I.I.T., 20 minutes of circuit training stations, and 5 minutes of yoga stretching as a cool down.

Vinyasa Yoga

Classes offer students a greater challenge. Once postures are mastered, students are taught to transition their postures in a breath synchronized motion. Intermediate-advance.

Water in Motion

WATERinMOTION® is a pre-choreographed, quarterly-released group aqua exercise program that refreshes your aerobic experience every 3 months with new choreography and music, land equivalent intensity, fantastic sing-along quality music, and dynamic instructors.


Encompasses the mind, body, and spirit while improving flexibility, strength and relaxation.


Ditch the workout and join the party. Come work up a sweat in this blast of a class!

Zumba + Barre

This fun fusion class combines a Zumba cardio blast with the muscle lengthening and endurance benefits of Barre. Beginners welcome!

JCC Running Clubs

Running Club- Beginner

Al Lewis, JCC Personal Trainer, will lead a 1 to 3 mile run through downtown Buffalo. Participants must check in at the JCC and meet outside in the parking lot.

Running Club - Intermediate

Al Lewis, JCC Personal Trainer, will take you on a group run of approximately 4 miles through downtown Buffalo. Participants must check in at the JCC and meet outside in the parking lot.
