Kathy Corff Rogers has some great moves. For thirty-five years she’s been sharing them through her exercise classes at the Jewish Community Center. Since COVID, the retired graphics designer has been doing her classes virtually.
Kathy also works with Silver Sneakers, a program offered by some Medicare providers. Many of her class participants are seniors. She says “It’s building endurance, strength and cardio helps your heart and breathing. This is not. wimpy workout by any means.”
Kathy connects with as many as a hundred students per session. Her mother-in-law Pauline takes the class and she’s “ninety-four and a half”. Pauline gives her work-outs thumbs up and says “I’m still attending, I guess I like it.”
Kathy’s oldest class participant is Jennie Pohl. According to Kathy, Jennie is a legend around the JCC. Jennie says “I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t like it.”
According to Kathy, her class is about more than just exercise, she says ” “We’ve been able to keep the community together and people look forward to seeing each other everyday.”
