Mike was born in Lacedonia, Italy and moved to Binghamton, NY at an early age. He moved to Buffalo in 1996 and graduated from Buffalo State College in 1999. Mike has been a personal trainer since 2010, doing independent training before joining the JCC in 2014. His training focuses on weight training, toning, weight loss, and strength and conditioning. Mike has enjoyed fitness from a very young age, playing soccer and softball throughout his life. He started working out in high school, and today you can find him in the gym 5 to 6 days a week. Not only will he help you with your knowledge of fitness, he will also increase you knowledge of movies and his other favorite subject, Batman. NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning SpecialistTim grew up in the NJ suburbs, and was very active in various recreational sports in his hometown of Randolph. In high school he was a varsity athlete competing in multiple track and field events as well as swimming. After graduating high school, Tim attended Binghamton University, where he was a member of the Rugby team. During his time at Binghamton University he studied Anthropology, and when Tim graduated in 2013 he received a Bachelors of Latin American and Caribbean Area Studies, completed a concentration in Physical Therapy, and became a NYS Basic EMT. After graduation, Tim returned home to NJ and began working at a local Physical Therapy facility. He worked for two years at PRO Physical Therapy where he advanced to Head Physical Therapy Aide, and gained experience with various demographics and modalities. Interested in pursuing a graduate degree, Tim was influenced by his college roommate to relocate to Buffalo in early 2016. He plans on continuing to work in personal training while working towards a career in Nursing, and is presently working on a Precision Nutrition Certification.
ACE Certified Personal TrainerSusan holds a B.S. from Miami University and is an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Health Coach through the National Society of Health Coaches. In addition, she is a Les Mills CXWORX Instructor and is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis/Fall Prevention. She is also a Registered Nurse. Susan enjoys reading, biking, weight training, running, and long walks with her husband and yellow Labrador retriever. She has a passion for fitness and has been a life-long learner in the areas of health and nutrition. Her philosophy is that each individual has to discover what works for them. There is no one “right” approach! She is excited to help others figure out their own path to a healthy lifestyle and emphasizes the overall wellness and functional fitness of each person she works with. Susan would like to support you in your journey to optimal health by designing a fun, personalized workout program for you. Her focus is on making exercise enjoyable yet challenging enough to realize the goals you would like to achieve.
AFAA Certified Personal TrainerLamarr has been with the JCC for 7 years & an AFAA Certified Personal Fitness Trainer for 5 years. Since the age of 13, Lamarr has always been an active participant with weight training and the game of basketball. He has competed over the years in several different tournaments throughout the city of Buffalo. He’s also well known for playing pick-up basketball games with members from the JCC.
Lamarr is experienced in training ages from 16 & older. He takes pride in motivating and guiding his clients to strive to reach any type of fitness goals they look to accomplish. He looks forward to teaching & displaying, his experience with wellness & health through cardiovascular conditioning, weight training, plyometrics, & flexibility conditioning.
NASM Certified Personal TrainerAllison is a NASM certified personal trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist. My specialties include nutrition counseling, core training, pre/post natal training and corrective exercise. I enjoy helping others become stronger, more confident, and empowered to be their healthiest and best selves. I am also a Precision Nutrition coach, and enjoy using kettlebells, TRX, bodyweight exercises, and other modalities to get my clients into shape.
NFPT Certified Personal TrainerI am certified by National Federation of Personal Trainers and am planning on becoming certified through National Strength and Conditioning Association also. I served in the military (Army) Fort Sill, Ok and Camp Stanley Korea, and held one the highest PT scores while in Basic Training and AIT. I have over 12 Years in training experience, and have helped/trained those of the ages ranging from 10-82. Easy to talk to and understanding (I try to make every visit a fun, yet goal focused visit), and diverse in every aspect. From beginner to advanced. Male or female, fat loss to gaining LBM, I will help be your motivation! I LOVE circuit training, free weights, endurance, core, functional exercises, which will help individuals with the activities they do on a day to day basis. I Have turned the shyest people into workout’oholics! She has many years of experience in the fitness industry. Her goal is to help clients achieve a balance lifestyle that encompasses all dimensions of health and wellness. With a background in coaching, she tries to create a training environment that not only motivates but also empowers individuals to continually challenge themselves in a fun and rewarding way. AL Lewis is a nationally certified member of the IFPA and has been personal training at the JCC for 16 years after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness from Buffalo State College. Let Al design a fitness program that’s individualized for your age, body and lifestyle. Al will work with you every step of the way, on each visit to monitor your progress and make adjustments, to ensure that you reach your goal. With experience in weight training, endurance training, power lifting, core training, and aerobic conditioning, Al has found success with clients ranging from ages 14 to 80 years old.
ISSA Certified Personal TrainerKathy is the Group Fitness Manager at the Holland Family Building. As a passionate Certified Personal Trainer, Kathy creates a training environment that not only motivates but also empowers individuals to continually challenge themselves in a fun and rewarding way. “As a mom of two, I understand how hard it is to find time to work out, but it’s so important for you to get back to exercise with an expert who understands exactly what postpartum bodies need.” Kathy’s 10 years of experience at instructing group fitness classes has led to her to find her passion in helping individuals that range from postpartum to fit athletes working to improve their overall health and fitness. She holds a B.S. from SUNY Fredonia and is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. In addition, she is a Les Mills BodyPump and CXWorx Instructor.
IFPA Certified Personal TrainerI am an IFPA Certified Personal Trainer and have been training for 15 years at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo. I specialize in individual training sessions, gearing towards balance, functional training, and post re-habilitation training.
