Moment Zoominar: A Wide-Open Conversation about Family, Communication, Sexual Politics, and More
September 22 | 4:30 pm
Join Deborah Tannen, New York Times bestselling author of You Just Don’t Understand: Women and Men in Conversation and Norman Ornstein, resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, for a conversation about Deborah’s just-published book Finding My Father: His Century-Long Journey from World War I Warsaw and My Quest to Follow. Tannen and Ornstein will also explore how relations between women and men have evolved from the perspective of sexual politics as well as the roles and opportunities for women in public life.
More about Tannen’s new book: Born into a Hasidic family in Warsaw in 1908, Eli Tannen came to America at twelve; quit high school at fourteen to work in a coat factory yet eventually established his own law firm and ran for congress. Reading his journals and discovering letters he saved from a woman her father might have married instead of her mother, Tannen had to rethink her father’s life and her parents’ marriage. Tune in to see how Albert Einstein plays a role!
