JCC ZOOM Limud Series
August 6 | 12:00 pm
Live at Lunchtime – A musical performance by Howard Simon
Join us for a lunch-hour Limud with Howard Simon, a singer-songwriter based in San Francisco. His songs recall the classic singer-songwriters of the ‘70s – his influences include Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Laura Nyro and others – and center on themes of family, community, love and loss. Simon’s most recent album, “Western Reserve,” is a tribute to Northeastern Ohio, where he was born and raised, and has received glowing reviews in the indie music press.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Simon is very active in the San Francisco Jewish community, with service on the boards of the SF-JCC, Lehrhaus Judaica (the Bay Area’s adult school of Jewish studies), Congregation Ner Tamid, and many other organizations. He holds an MA in Jewish Studies and is a regular lecturer in issues of Jewish ethics. He still has a day job as a lawyer and leadership mentor in the Bay Area biotech industry.
You can learn more about Howard Simon and his music at www.howardsimonmusic.com, and listen to his music on all the usual digital sites, including Spotify, iTunes, Tidal and others.
