Finding Mr. Rightstein: Zoom Play Reading and Talkback with Author Nancy Davidoff Kelton and the Jewish Repertory Theatre
January 21 | 7:00 pmFree
Joanna, a divorced woman in her 50s, journeys towards forgiveness, finding a home for her aging mother, finding home within herself, and finding a mensch of a partner. Her struggles with herself, her family, and the Wrongstein men she dates along with her growth as a complicated woman playing many roles, are dramatized in this play reading.
Nancy Davidoff Kelton is an author of 7 books, including “Writing from Personal Experience,” and a memoir, Finding Mr. Rightstein from which she adapted it with the same title for the stage. This will be the play’s first public reading. A 10-minute section of the play called “A Beginning,” was a finalist in The Chameleon Theatre Circle’s 21 Annual New Play Contest. Nancy’s essays have been published in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, AARP, Next Avenue, McSweeney’s, Hadassah Magazine, and elsewhere.
This event is part of the Cultural Arts Celebration sponsored by the Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo and Moment Magazine.
