Facility and Events Manager

Starting at $20-24/hour

The Facility and Events Manager will contribute to the vision, mission and values of the JCC of Greater Buffalo by leveraging the facilities and assets of the JCC to maximize revenue through management and development of facility rentals, room management, and food service. The Facility and Events Manager will develop and manage a team that will provide program and event support, oversight of food service and purchasing, as well as the creation and management of facility rentals with standards of excellence. This position will manage all JCC room reservations and coordinate with Facilities and Maintenance Department for set-up and clean up, and to ensure a high level of cleanliness and appropriate maintenance of rental facilities and equipment in addition to working collaboratively with various departments in order to hold successful events.

    Early Childhood

    Lead Teacher: Starting at $17.50/hr

    Benderson Family Building and Holland Family Building 

    We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for working with toddlers (18 months-24 months) in our NAEYC accredited Early Childhood Center. Are you organized, creative, nurturing, and do you love working in a team? Minimum qualifications include CDA, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Early Childhood Education, and two years or more experience working with children 18 months and older. Must be available between the hours of 7:30 am-6:00 pm. Full time only. Perks include free gym membership and possible discounts on childcare and summer camp. Salary depends on experience and education. 

    Lead Universal Pre-K Teacher: Starting at $18.75/hr

    We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for working with preschoolers (4-year-olds) in our NAEYC accredited, play-based Early Childhood Center. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree and Teacher Certification in Early Childhood (Birth-2), as this position is in our Buffalo UPK community-based classroom. Must have two years or more experience as a lead teacher for children under 5 years old. Must be available between the hours of 7:30 am-6:00 pm (every morning and various afternoons). Flexible schedule – Full time only. Perks include free gym membership and discounts on childcare and summer camp. Salary depends on experience and education. 

    Assistant Teachers: Starting at $14.75/hr

    Benderson Family Building and Holland Family Building 

    Assistant teachers are responsible for providing an environment of acceptance in which children can grow and learn. They will help analyze the developmental needs of each child and evaluate their progress on a regular basis in addition to developing a curriculum that is safe and promotes the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of children.

    Aquatics

    Lifeguard 

    Benderson Family Building and Holland Family Building 

    The JCC Lifeguard team is responsible for providing a safe and inclusive aquatic environment for members and guests of all ages, backgrounds, and swim levels. These team members are expected to meet the JCC and American Red Cross standards for safety and professionalism at all times. The JCC has multiple aquatics facilities, Holland Family Building in Downtown Buffalo and Benderson Family Building in Getzville (by UB North), lifeguards may be required to work at both facilities including our seasonal outdoor aquatics complex located at the Benderson Family Building. 

    Requirements:
    Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification

    Daily Responsibility’s Include:

    • Patron surveillance and monitoring. 
    • Maintaining a safe environment.
    • Projecting a positive image and energy.
    • First Aid and Emergency response and preparation.
    • Teamwork and communication with Head Guards and Lifeguard team.
    • Cleaning and sanitation of aquatic facilities and equipment. 
    • Chemical testing and daily documentation.

    The JCC L.G.I. team is responsible for providing safe, effective, and high-quality aquatic and safety training for members, guests, and staff of all qualifying ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. These team members are expected to meet the JCC and American Red Cross standards for training, safety, and professionalism at all times. The JCC has multiple aquatics facilities, Holland Family Building in Downtown Buffalo and Benderson Family Building in Getzville (by UB North), L.G.I. team members may be required to work at both facilities. 

    Requirements:
    Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification (L.G.I.)
    Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification

    Daily Responsibility’s Include:
    -Maintaining a safe, inclusive and positive training environment.
    -Administering appropriate training procedures via ARC Training.
    -Teamwork and communication with Head Trainer and L.G.I. team
    -Cleaning, sanitation, and organization of aquatic facilities and training equipment.
    -Testing and documentation submission for ARC training courses.

    PERSONAL TRAINERS/FITNESS INSTRUCTORS

    Local large community center in Getville and Buffalo looking for certified personal trainers/fitness instructors to work with a diverse population. Individuals must be energetic and customer-oriented. Hours vary and pay is dependent on experience and certification.

    Member Services Associate

    Benderson and Holland Family Building 

    Part-time positions are available at our Member Services Desk. The ability to work at both locations would be preferable. The ideal applicant would be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. The candidate must be customer service-oriented, professional, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Applicant needs to be flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with the latest technology. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver and have an upbeat personality.
