Bob is personable, fun, and energetic. Whether you are just beginning your journey to better health and wellness, or are looking to take your exercise routine to the next level, Bob will assist you in choosing a program that is within your abilities. After a cardiac episode in 2011, Bob underwent his own health and wellness transformation. He overhauled his eating habits and lost over 60 pounds. His own personal journey is a lesson for anyone looking to make a lifestyle change, or looking to incorporate an individualized workout routine. Many know Bob as Bobby Billick from Bennett High School. He is a master home chef who has been featured in several local newspapers, and is always ready with a healthy recipe choice alternative. Bob is married and has two grown children.
Allow me to share my passion for fitness by developing a fitness program that will enhance the quality of your life. I have a B.S. in Health & Wellness and currently hold Advanced AFAA Training Certification. Jodee has been employed as a Member Services Representative at the JCC since 2006. She has been certified as a NETA personal trainer and continues teaching yoga and spinning to full classes. Since 1986, her love for fitness has kept her motivated to continuously work out and discover new ways to live a healthier lifestyle. Running is her passion and she has completed a half marathon and has run over seventy 5k’s! Her high spirits and enthusiasm have helped push others to take part in the sport of running and help them achieve that runners high! Talk to her and tell her what your goals are. Jodee will work with you until you have achieved what you set out to do! To her, it’s all about paying it forward.
Ana has been at the JCC for several years, instructing swimming lessons and lifeguarding. She is a certified Zumba instructor, Red cross certified lifeguard and swimming instructor. She most recently became an AFAA certified personal trainer. Ana competed as a synchronized swimmer for 14 years, on a national, collegiate and now master’s level. Since graduating Wheaton College with a degree in psychology, Ana has continued to develop her exercise knowledge and coaches for The Buffalo Swimkins, a synchronized swim club in Buffalo.
You have seen Betsy at the Benderson building for over 8 years either in the pool or instructing in the group fitness studio. Betsy specializes in both traditional exercise and mind/body programs. As an instructor for over 18 years, Betsy’s extensive background includes multiple water and land certifications. A Reiki Master teacher and an ARCB certified reflexologist, she combines her skills to provide a unique water and yoga experience that will resonate with all who are exposed to her dynamic classes. Betsy is a published author in AKWA, the national water pro journal of the Aquatic Exercise Association.
Hi, my name is Mark Kiripolsky. I am an AFAA certified trainer. I’ve been training at the JCC since 2006. If you’re looking for a faster and more efficient way to work out, I’m the trainer for you. By combining cardio and strength training, you will be able to get more done in less time with the use of kettlebells and free weights. I’m also experienced in bodybuilding, with two 1st place class wins at the Mr. Great Lakes Bodybuilding Contest. With my versatile background I can help you achieve your fitness goals!
Waynonda Knight is an International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) Certified Fitness Trainer, a designation that has come to be recognized as the trainers’ trainer for over 27 years and in over 91 countries. She has completed training in Tabata Bootcamp™, SilverSneakers™, SilverSneakers CardioFit™, SilverSneakers Classic™, Yoga, Diet and Nutrition, Sports and Nutrition, Exercise and Fibromyalgia, Bootcamp Training as well as Weight Management. Waynonda’s enthusiasm makes working out fun. While she enjoys working with those who seek a faster-paced workout, she has experience in working with individuals at every fitness level, creating a fun, yet challenging workout.
Melissa Lazar is a Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor on staff at the JCC since 1999. She is AFAA Certified as a Personal Trainer, Kickboxing instructor, Step & Group Fitness Instructor, and a Les Mills BodyPump certified instructor. Over the past decade, Melissa has taught Whittle Your Middle, Yoga, Spinning. 20-20-20, Boot Camp, Kardio Kick, Women with Weights, Osteo-Fit, Hi-Lo, BodyPump, BodyWorks, and Basic Training. Melissa has worked with prenatal and postnatal clients, teaching MamaYoga, Strollercize, and Body After Baby. She has taught youth fitness classes, including ballet, tap, acro and jazz dance.
Hollis became a certified personal trainer in 2006. Her goal was to inspire and motivate women who had never weight trained before and those who had given up on fitness. Two years ago her team won the Operation 90 Days challenge. She is also certified as a Les Mills Body Pump instructor. Hollis has a master’s degree in nursing and currently works full time for Kaleida Health in the business development sector. She works out regularly and enjoys swimming, Spinning and Body Pump. She has completed several sprint triathlons over the years. She is a regular at the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.
Fitness has been a passion of mine for over 25 years. Whether you are looking to run your first 5K, lose weight, or have general fitness objectives, I would be happy to assist you. I am a Certified Fitness/Personal Trainer through ISSA and NCSF, & a graduate of NCCC with a Personal Trainer Certificate. My background experience includes 4½ years in the military, 12 marathons (including Boston), and TRX & Kettleball training. I am very comfortable with older clients and I’m qualified in Silver Sneakers. I understand the aches that age brings on and I can show you ways to feel young. My focus is proper technique and increasing/maintaining range of motion. I am dedicated to sharing my fitness passion and I’m eager to support you as you strive to reach your goals.

I have been Personal Training for 16 years as well as a former amateur bodybuilder. The main goal for my JCC clients is to help improve their quality of life through better health and wellness. To help you achieve this, I emphasize strength and endurance while focusing on core and functional fitness. The beauty of this program is that all ages can and have reached their goals. I do this through consistent encouragement and attention to the individual’s needs. I can ease you into a program that is not intimidating and easy enough for a beginner. As we progress and you see results, I will step up weights and reps to take you to your ultimate goal.
Emilie is a NASM, National Academy of Sports Medicine, certified personal trainer. She grew up in Buffalo and pursued her passion for health and physical fitness at Ohio Wesleyan University. At OWU she received two bachelors’ degrees in Exercise Science and Biology. She has an extensive ability to work with a diverse clientele and adjust training to their specific goals and needs. This includes sport training, specifically in swimming and running; she has competed as a varsity athlete in college; and has 6 years of coaching and personal training experience. She enjoys working with those who have balance complications as well as those with fitness or weight loss goals. Emilie is determined to help motivate clients to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
21 years working for the JCC, over 25 years in the Fitness Industry. Ann holds a Master of Science degree from D’Youville College. Her certifications include ACE Personal Training, ACE Group Fitness, Stott Pilates, Madd Dogg Spinning and Les Mills BodyPump and CXWorks. Ann prefers to work with clients on the opposite end of the spectrum. Those who are just beginning fitness and those who are fitness savvy. She is talented in motivating even the most reluctant exerciser. She is satisfied when clients make fitness a way of life!
